Direct Cremations held at Carlisle Crematorium
A direct cremation, also referred to as a simple funeral or an Unattended Funeral, is a cremation with no funeral service performed beforehand, and without any mourners in attendance at the crematorium.
As a direct cremation does not include a funeral service, it allows you to choose your own way to remember your loved one at a place and time that suits you. The cremation will take place at Carlisle Crematorium which means that your loved one is not transported half way around the country to another location.
The care of the deceased is exactly the same as it would be for any other of our funerals but no-one attends on the day. Families can still choose the day the cremation takes place but not the time
